THE UNBLESSED
The Unblessed are a soul rock band from southern England. Their music blends influences of seminal rock artists David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen with those of soul legends like Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin, adding several nods to the funk of Kool and the Gang.
It’s been said that their music “doesn’t sound like it’s come from here. It sounds more like something from the southern states of America than the home counties.” That’s something that’s taken as a compliment for a band that looks across the pond to Robert Randolph, Vintage Trouble and the Tedeschi Trucks Band as examples of bands that give inspiration.
The release of their first single ‘Honesty’ in early 2019 was followed by ‘Devil Or The Deep Blue Sea’ in November of the same year. Both are available on Spotify, Apple Music among other download sites.
After joining the band in 2020 Jerome’s vocals first appeared on the song ‘Another Town’, and the band is presently preparing for the next season of festivals and performances.

Widely regarded as one of the best Funk and Soul bands in and around the home counties area, The Funk Soul Rebels have been gracing bustling music venues Since 2015, entertaining Funk/Soul lovers from the home counties and further afar. Their prominent groove-based music takes the listener on a dynamic musical journey where memories are conjured up of a bygone era and it is inevitable that feet tap away uncontrollably to an energy that devours your heart and heightens your senses.
The syncopated bass and percussion lines accented by horns, guitar, and vocals lead to a gritty showcase of pure rhythmical beauty that leaves its’ audiences coming back to their shows time after time. The talented and highly experienced band members resurrect classic artists such as Bill Withers, Commodores, Gil Scott-Heron, Lonnie Liston-Smith, and Stevie Wonder, and up-to-date artists such as Aloe Blacc and Daft Punk.
